Summary
The Dansk Operations Manager’s primary focus is to support, organize, distribute and execute on the tasks and projects of the cross-functional, cross-organizational Dansk team. This role is critical in leading the team through key business initiatives to deliver a strategic, on-brand, high-quality experience to the Dansk community. This includes management of the Dansk work plan as well as the Dansk content, promotional and product introduction calendars, content delivery execution, community management, reporting & analysis, research, task scheduling & organization and cross-functional collaboration. This role both coordinates/delegates cross-functionally and personally executes on Dansk-specific tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Operations – Manages the on-time completion of work and projects.
Develops and continues to build a deep understanding of the Dansk business, brand, product and customer.
Builds, maintains, evaluates and revises processes for the Dansk business. Processes for Dansk will be informed by established Food52 and Schoolhouse processes.
Coordinates cross-functionally, particularly with Dansk Creative Director, Dansk creative production team, Schoolhouse strategic/tactical marketing teammates, Dansk brand archivist contractor and Schoolhouse product/merchandising teams to ensure content, promotional and product introduction initiatives are well-executed.
Manages content operations and executes upon content delivery to the Dansk community via all touchpoints and communication channels.
Owns business performance reporting processes.
Community – Represents the Dansk brand to our community both internally and externally.
Responsible for codifying, communicating and embodying the Dansk brand and culture. Understands the Food52 and Schoolhouse brands and cultures as well.
Provides on-brand and high-quality community management. Maintains a community management presence that is positive, helpful and inviting.
Manages initiatives geared toward development, acquisition/growth and retention including superfans events/promos and vintage features/sales.
Defines and maintains the Dansk customer/community profiles and bullseye and advocates for the Dansk customer/community in decision-making for the business.
Communication – Maintains frequent and timely communication with staff, management, and business partners to keep everyone current and well informed with accurate information concerning needs, opportunities, and risks. Conducts or attends daily, weekly, and monthly meetings, both ad-hoc or scheduled, leading, or participating in an engaged and relevant manner. Negotiates needs, deliverables, and timelines to meet business requirements. Position has accountability and responsibility to communicate and represent Dansk in ways which contribute to business development. Resolves team communication challenges within their level of discretion, while maintaining a positive and professional presence.
Staff – communicates expectations, changes, work schedules, process requirements, company policies, and upcoming events. Creates and posts key performance indicators with meaningful goals, historical and current performance metrics. Provides frequent encouragement and constructive feedback. Assists and advises team members to create and improve upon processes or reports. Facilitates and leads team meetings.
Management – engages management with status reporting, business analysis, planning/execution/progress of special projects, resource planning, resource requests and allocation, budgeting and expense reports, issue identification and resolution, informing or consulting as appropriate or requested. Facilitates and leads project meetings.
Business Partners – instills confidence with proactive requests or information and timely responses to cross-functional partner interests and queries. Establishes Service Level Agreements with business partners as appropriate to understand, negotiate and meet business objectives. Presents project proposals, progress reports, and summaries to intra- and inter-departmental business partners, external business partners, leadership, and ownership.
Team Leadership – Directs, develops, and motivates team members in a positive, productive, and respectful manner, ensuring appropriate teamwork, work focus, productivity, and quality.
Demonstrates leadership and influence from a position without formal direct reports
Meeting Standards – Reviews new and existing projects and initiatives and prioritizes, as necessary.
Builds and maintains status dashboards to succinctly communicate key data points and progress.
Understands, supports, and suggests innovations for best procedural practices.

Qualifications & Requirements
5+ years working in a retail operations environment
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Previous leadership experience a plus
Previous reporting experience a plus
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google products
Knowledge of SAP and Shopify a plus
Physical Conditions
Must be available to work Monday through Friday
Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to sit and work on a computer for 6-9 hours per day
