Job Description:
Functions as part of a dynamic and engaging laboratory team in a professional setting. This position facilitates laboratory organization and patient care, working closely with doctors, nurses, and medical laboratory scientists. Clinical Laboratory Assistant’s are responsible for ordering and preparing patient samples, such as blood and other body fluids, and delivering specimens to the appropriate department or testing facility. Caregivers in this role will gain valuable experience and knowledge to help prepare them for workplace and career advancement.
The Clinical Laboratory Assistant is the gatekeeper to the clinical and pathology laboratory, performing a variety of functions to support laboratory testing and diagnosis. Their primary responsibility is the accurate labeling, accessioning, and processing of patient specimens, including tissue, blood, and body fluids, according to established procedures.
Caregivers in this role can compassionately communicate procedures and specimen collection instructions with patients and clinical staff and demonstrate empathy during every interaction. They may have opportunities for growth, developing additional skills such as:

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$17.50 – $22.75
