Job Description:
In cooperation with IT, local operations staff and key users, provides strategic, budgeting and disaster recovery/business continuity planning to offices and staff in multiple operating, business and functional units
Negotiate, execute, and conduct high level review and analysis, dispute resolution and/or settlement negotiations of contracts with larger and more complex, market/regional/national based group/system providers in accordance with company standards in order to maintain and enhance provider networks while meeting and exceeding accessibility, quality and financial goals and cost initiatives of the organization
Responsible for local inventory maintenance and software license management of communication systems
Supervise the work of engineers engaged in design development and supervise the review and approval of design plans, shop drawings, technical analyses, and test documentation submitted to assure conformance with internal/contract requirements
Direct the technical design and constructibility reviews of proposed construction contracts and the final review of as-built drawings; provide staff comments on the needed improvement of contract specification and drawings
Prepare draft annual and long-range forecasts for budgetary and other management purposes for telecom and network services
Participate in negotiations with Scottish Rite for Children consultants and others, as necessary
Make recommendations to senior management on the application of new technology for the Scottish Rite’s network and telecom operating systems
Monitor security compliance in collaboration with Information Security in accordance with IT standards, policies, and procedures
Serve as SME for less experienced team members and internal partners, and serve as the technical and communications liaison to and from stakeholders and office key-users for IT communications, initiatives, needs assessments, etc.
Provide network/telecommunications development, maintenance, and refinement activities and strategies in support of cross-market network management unit; assist with the design, development, management, and or implementation of strategic network configurations and integration activities
Responsible for the oversight of all telecommunications and network engineering staff, vendors, and partners as well as local IT vendor, contract and outsourcing management
Coordinate/provide escalated technical support that requires an on-site presence (server, NAS, network or PC equipment failure), including data backup recovery; perform complex software/hardware troubleshooting, patches and re-installations in cooperation with the Enterprise Helpdesk and in accordance with established SLAs
Responsible for coordinating and/or execution of communication system’s maintenance, upgrades, configuration changes, and request management to the network, phone and pager system servers, switches, and associated management platforms in order to support customer requests, resolve their issues, find opportunities for improvement
Responsible for delegating/coordinating/maintaining, and reporting as needed, an accurate and thorough inventory of all Scottish Rite circuits, pagers, phones, and other resources/assets to ensure proper usage, sizing, and cost
Responsible for coordinating and/or maintaining all support documentation, topology diagrams, and procedures for communication systems and processes in such a manner as they are accessible and able to be performed by other members of the Communication Services or IT team
Follow all Scottish Rite Policy, Procedures, Standards, and Guidelines
Master’s degree, preferably Administration/Management, IT, or Computer Science; OR
Bachelor’s degree with 4 or more years of related experience
Strong and proven experience managing personnel and supporting enterprise networks and telecommunications systems
Enterprise experience in the following areas: enterprise networking equipment, firewalls, load balancers, gateways, data and voice convergence, video services, and wireless technologies
Strong and proven experience managing and migrating to enterprise level VOIP Systems
Strong and proven experience working with major carriers (AT&T, Verizon) and managing circuits / connections
Extensive technical knowledge and experience of managing and maintaining large-scale, highly available, Internet facing networks
Deep understanding of network protocols and their applications and characteristic behaviors
Experience managing senior technical resources
Excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills for daily interactions with Scottish Rite staff
