Position Summary
North Seattle College is seeking applications for a part-time faculty librarian to support the Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) Early Childhood Education (ECE) Spanish cohort. This position will teach INFO 300, an online credit bearing information literacy course, and help curate a collection of electronic and print materials to support students in the BAS ECE Spanish cohort program. Upon completion of the INFO 300 course, students are able to find, select, evaluate, and cite appropriate sources to match the goals of their information need and to support evidence-informed decision making.
The teaching duties are anticipated to begin in Winter 2023, but hours will be available as early as Spring 2023 to begin curating a library collection for the program.
We are looking for a colleague with native level fluency in Spanish, an understanding of the mission of North Seattle College, and an ability to promote student success in a learner-centered environment. A willingness to use technology to support learning in different modalities, including teaching online and hybrid; knowledge of assessment strategies for student learning outcomes; effective communication skills; demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, & inclusion; experience working in a multicultural environment; and a willingness to work collaboratively to contribute to North Seattle College, while continuing to grow and learn professionally.
This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by AFT-Seattle.
