There is one (1) vacancy with the Department of Planning and Permitting (DPP) Administration, located in Honolulu.
As a second deputy to the Director of the DPP, this position is responsible for assisting the Director in the overall administration and direction of the department’s programs and special projects, particularly those that cross divisions, to include the following duties and responsibilities:

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four year college or university with specialization in public administration, business administration, political science or a related field.
Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.
Substitution: Work experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis. Such experience must have provided the knowledge, skills, and analytical ability normally gained from attainment of a bachelor’s degree.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Five years of responsible administrative experience in government or a large business organization, two of which shall have been in a responsible supervisory or managerial capacity.
QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE:
Having the required number of years of experience will not in itself be accepted as qualifying for the position. Your overall experience must have been of such scope, level and responsibility as to conclusively demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
Possession of an appropriate valid Hawaii State driver’s license (type 3/automobile).
