Overview:
Seeking a motivated individual with strong audit and financial background to lead and assist Securian Casualty Company (SCC) with compliance, operations and financial operations.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Collaboration with Corporate Compliance annual compliance review and Securian CCO (Corporate Compliance Officer) Roundtable with regards to Securian Casualty Company
Coordinate MGA (Managing General Agent) oversights and audits to include onsite visits, report preparation and presentation
Responsible for the Due Diligence questionnaires, responses from the MGA/TPA’s (Third Party Administrators) and third-party risk assessments
Liaison with enterprise Internal audit
Facilitate the review of internal controls for SCC (working with internal audit and external partner)
Serve as point of contact for applicable DOI (Department of Insurance) reportingÂ
Coordinate BCM (Business Continuity Management) / Disaster Recovery compliance for internal documents/review and state filing requirements
Coordinate the review of and logging of complaintsÂ
Assist with annual external audit requests
Conducting the Reporting Financial Reporting Controls Compliance (FRCC) duties
Assist with accounting duties to include but not limited to entries, reconciliations, profit share/reinsurance calculations and ad hoc reporting
Special Projects as assigned
Qualifications:
**Degree in accounting or finance**
Strong analytical, research, and creative problem-solving and thinking skills
Experience with insurance and financial reporting
Expertise with Excel
Experience working in or with an accounting, finance or actuarial department
Organization skills and attention to detail to meet deadlines and produce accurate work
Solid interpersonal and communication skills to work with and receive direction from a variety of associates and to prepare written documentation of work
Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and respond to changing priorities
Decision making skills and ability to work independently
Ability to work overtime when needed

If you’re in a commutable distance (90 minutes) you’ll join us 2-3 days each week in our offices to collaborate and build relationships. Our policy allows flexibility for the reality of business and personal schedules. When working in our offices at least two days per week isn’t feasible (vacations, illness, travel, etc.), an eight day per month standard is an option.
Physical Job Requirements:
A bility to utilize the keyboard, computer and/or mouse for up to 8 hours per day
Ability to work at least 40 hours per week
Ability to utilize the phone and/or virtual meeting platform for 1-4 hours per day
Ability to meet the physical demands of traveling, approximately 2-4 times per year; this includes the ability to operate a motor vehicle as well as an ability to utilize air travel.
