Our Fleet Mechanic assembles, maintains, and repairs machinery and vehicles for our branch. They are responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of automobiles, trucks, machines, engines, pumps, and mechanical systems through inspecting and testing vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, and replacing filters. They may also complete repairs to body parts.

Starting Wage Range: $23.00 – $26.00 per hour. Starting wage is determined based on relevant experience. Position Wage Range: $19.00 – $30.00 per hour. This is a hourly, non-exempt position.

The essential functions for this position are as follows:

• Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements
• Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues
• Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability
• Troubleshoot ed problems and resolve them in a timely manner
• Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems
• Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components
• Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery
• Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users
• Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g. repair of hydraulic systems, painting vehicles etc.)
• Keep logs of work and on issues
• May be required to outside of normal schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, as it may be necessary to fulfil the duties or the needs of the business.
• Expected to have regular attendance for scheduled shifts, and to notify supervisor within a timely manner of absenteeism or tardiness
• Maintain a neat and clean appearance as outlined in Senske’s employee handbook. Follow safety regulations and work in a safe manner
• Other duties as assigned

Must Haves:

• High School Diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
• Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred but not required. Valid certification (e.g ASE) is also preferred.
• Proven experience as Mechanic
• Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components
• Aptitude in using various hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers etc.) and precision measurement tools (e.g. calipers)
• Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints etc.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and have a history of safe driving
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background screening and drug test (THC excluded).
• At least 21 years old or older (requirement to drive a company vehicle)
