Sentara CarePlex Hospital located in Hampton, is hiring a Manager for the Medicine Unit. The Manager will supervise and manage a 24-hour operations.
Shift: Days
Management Incentive Bonus potential available with this position!
Experience required 3 years: Healthcare Management and Clinical Practice Care must have previous supervisory experience, and BSN.
The Manager of Med Surg is responsible and accountable for the daily operations of one or more clinical areas. Performs work assignments as needed to provide coverage and to mentor or assist staff. Interviews, hires and develops team members with the goal of developing a highly effective work team. Engages in talent retention strategies for the area(s) of responsibility.
The Medicine Unit – 4 James is looking for qualified nurses who will provide care to acute and chronic care patients with a variety of comorbidities from the age of 18 years of age and up, with a special love for our senior population. We are looking for new grads to seasoned nurses, who are compassionate, dependable, flexible and hardworking. If this is you, please come and join our 4 James family.
Sentara CarePlex Hospital is a 224-bed, acute care hospital, Certified Primary Stroke Center and a Magnet facility located in Hampton, Va. The hospital provides care through advanced surgical programs, emergency cardiac intervention, fellowship-trained physicians, and the newly-openedFamily Maternity Center.

Job Summary
Responsible and accountable for the daily operations of one or more clinical areas. Models and leads professional practices consistent with organizational goals of safety, customer satisfaction and quality for the area of expertise. Supervises staff, provides clinical/ technical expertise and engages in process improvements. Assists in the fiscal budgeting and management process for the department including billing/revenue management, payroll, purchasing and supply cost management. Performs work assignments as needed to provide coverage and to mentor or assist staff. Interviews, hires and develops team members with the goal of developing a highly effective work team. Engages in talent retention strategies for the area(s) of responsibility.
Strong clinical care knowledge base in area of expertise. BLS required within 90 days
Qualifications:
BLD – Bachelor’s Level Degree: Nursing (Required)
Basic Life Support (BLS) – Other/National, Registered Nurse License (RN) – Compact/Multi-State License, Registered Nurse License (RN) – North Carolina, Registered Nurse License (RN) – Virginia
