The HR Generalist is an employee champion and change agent. Communicate proactively with HR department team members and build partnerships across the organization to deliver value-added services to management and employees that support the values and business objectives of the company. The HR Generalist supports the following functional areas: employee relations, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment support and employment law and compliance for assigned departments along with benefit administration for SentriLock.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
HR Administration
Serve as the main point of contact for all internal and external HR related questions while providing a world class customer experience
Prepare regular reporting and share with leadership team
Monitor and manage the pre-employment process including screenings and employee onboarding
Assist with the recruitment process to include conducting phone screens, leading interviews, providing and gathering input on candidate fit, draft and extend employment offers
Provide administrative support to HR and leadership team such as scheduling meetings, following up on meeting outcomes and assisting to coordinate meeting details
Complete HR forms and checklists for the various stages of the employment lifecycle
Prepare and deliver effective communication to the organization regarding HR related activities and updates
HR Compliance
Provide policy guidance and interpretation to employees and managers
Policy review, training and assist in developing new or updates to company policy, procedure and practices
Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risk and ensure regulatory compliance
Participate in and attend HR continuous education and development sessions, conferences and webinars to stay abreast of leading practices
Review and audit job descriptions to ensure accurately reflect the key responsibilities and classifications
Share knowledge with HR department members and other employees related to changing legal or HR landscape
Record retention of employee files and maintain accurate employment records for SentriLock employees and contractors, including filing
Collaborate with training to lead HR Onboarding for all new hires which includes presenting SentriLock policies and practices to new employees
Manage and resolve employee relations situations
Investigate, review, recommend, and implement acceptable resolution creating win-win situations from a business and operational standpoint and with the individuals involved Provide Policy guidance and interpretation
Work closely with HR Director and external legal advisors if necessary to maintain a healthy and productive work environment
Identify, recommend, and assist in coordinating training or development needs
Follow up on employee relations situations or areas of employee or management concern to verify the situation has improved and/or is resolved
Practice excellent documentation throughout the employee relations situations including with all parties involved and for record requirements
Support Organizational Culture
Conduct regular meetings with department managers to improve work relationship, build morale and increase productivity and retention
Review and present data, trends and metrics to develop solutions, program and policies to create and maintain a world class company
Introduce, schedule and lead employee focus groups and stay interviews to gather input and data related to the health of the organization
Support company initiatives by participating in projects that support the organizational goals. Champion, support and encourage a culture fostering our values
Support the SentriLock employer brand by assisting with creating employee newsletters, suggest social media updates and assist on other company brand outlets
Administer Benefits
Serve as primary point of contact between benefit providers, benefit brokers, and SentriLock
Administer various aspects of open enrollment
Facilitate the collection of company benefit surveys and contribute to annual plan designs
Present benefit information to newly eligible employees and enroll employees and dependents
Ensure continuous accuracy of all benefit enrollment census data
Facilitate FMLA, ADAA, STD, and LTD claims
Ensure accurate and timely review of benefit invoices and tracking of benefit expenses
Ensure compliance with benefit laws and regulations including developments in ACA and COBRA
Other duties as assigned
Participate in projects assigned by manager
Maintain and follow ISO standards
Seek out and complete appropriate training, development and research
Knowledge of department processes
Support the mission, principles, and goals of the company

Educational Requirements / Preferences
Bachelors degree in Organizational Development, HR Management or related field – Preferred
Experience Requirements / Preferences
3 Years HR Generalist or Benefit Administration – Required
1 Year Supporting a Manufacturing Environment – Preferred
1 Year Experience with Safety Programs – Preferred
Other Requirements / Preferences
SHRM Certification (SHRM CP) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment – Preferred
