ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Review all denials for resolution within 72 hours
Maintain SOPs and SWIs for denials
Review retraction report daily for resolution
Responsible for reporting of trends
Maintains knowledge of practice management systems, basic coding and billing knowledge, customer service techniques, basic insurance/carrier knowledge, and front office operation policies.
Works closely with Denial Coordinator, Facility Denial Liaison, and Managed Care Coordinator for education and payer accountability
Works with associates and departments to understand denial/appeal management processes.
Maintains confidentiality of data and information
Responsible for being aware of the current department policies and procedures
Meet or exceed quality and quantity benchmark targets as established by management (productivity, AR days, Cash Collections, Bad Debt, Past Due Follow Up)
Communicate daily with management on trends identified
Attend in-services, education sessions and department meetings as scheduled
Working knowledge of all software systems involved such DAR, Pulse, ClaimIQ and Scanning platform
Performs other duties as assigned
This is a Safety Sensitive Position.
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Certified Professional Coder desired and must maintain coding credentials
Minimum on one year experience in healthcare setting, preferably in the scope of revenue cycle
Detail oriented, analytical and ability to problem solve
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or equivalent
