Stock Accountant
What is the role?
The Stock Accountant is responsible for managing all delivering and sustaining top quartile results for the Chemical terminal located in Carson Distribution Complex.
Accountabilities:
SOx Compliance – adhering to internal and external regulatory standards to maintain Shell’s License to Operate
Close coordination of Daily loss gain accounting with measurement, Operations and third party.
Financial and Controls Reporting per Regulatory and Shell requirements.
Customer Focus – Ensuring strong relationships with Internal and External stakeholders
Works closely with accounting team to ensure all accounting requirements are met with in time frame.
Manage accounting of load racks, Pipeline, Marine and rail, operations. Collaboration: It is essential to work closely with other team members to successfully deliver results.
Working relationship with various functional teams such as Measurement, Operations and Schedulers.
Working closely with third party accounting team to resolve reconciliation issues.
Ensure compliance to site HSSE requirements including Shell Control Framework, Shell HSSE Manual and required to attend safety meetings.
Reconciliation of daily meter and tank gauging tickets
Rack Customer allocation
Customer reporting on allowed volumes and throughputs
Complies with confidentiality of the data per regulatory requirements to protect financial data.
Report monthly terminal volumes and throughputs.
Monitor Transmix generation.
Reconciliation of daily tank movements with financial control team in Manila.
Reconcile tank to tank movements
Get approvals for daily folios that are outside the limits.
Reconcile tickets with Houston Control Center logs on daily basis.
Manages Mormon Island dock wharfage volume and schedules appropriate regulatory fees to Port of LA.
Entering Synthesis tickets and book movement in TMS on daily basis.
Resolve custody transfer issues related to meter by coordinating with measurement team.
Support financial controls audit.
Part of document controls, all documents must be uploaded in Hexagon per the guidelines.
Identify opportunities for efficiency, cost savings and continuous Improvement of workflow.
What we need from you
Currently must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Bachelor’s Degree in any related field is a plus.
Minimum of one (1) year working experience or knowledge of Oil Industry relating to a terminal/Distribution accounting.
Be able to deliver results under tight deadlines.
Must be a self-starter, able to work without direct supervision.
Basic understanding of accounting Principles is Important.
Good troubleshooting skills in accounting is critical.
Good organization skill is necessary
