Silver Bay Seafoods is an integrated processor of frozen, salmon, herring, and squid products for domestic and export markets. Silver Bay Seafoods is one of North America’s leading seafood processors with operating locations across Alaska and California.
The Human Resources Manager will work closely with corporate to lead all HRs practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented high performance culture emphasizing quality, productivity, goal attainment and empowerment. This position is responsible for all aspects of Human Resources including recruiting and staff scheduling, onboarding, HR related paperwork, employee grievance and complaint management, training, disciplinary action and working closely with corporate HR and Recruiting leadership to develop programs and policies. In this role you will work closely with colleagues to ensure all HR duties are undertaken in accordance with Alaska employment law, company policy and ensuring any risk to the business is minimized. As a key member of the plant management team this role provides sound advice and coaching to department managers on all HR related areas that impact the plant. During the off season, you will be expected to participate in Corporate HR projects. You will report to the Corporate HR Manager.

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands:
Travel to facilities in Alaska will be required during processing seasons. While performing duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
