General Purpose

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the General Ledger/Staff accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records and reports, performing month end close journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts and providing accounting support with respect to various accounting areas.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Actively participate in the monthly financial close process and ensure work is completed in accordance with closing schedule
• Prepare journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations as assigned
• Including, but not limited to: prepaid accounts, intercompany, payroll accounts, Inventory, allocations, etc.
• Prepare daily Bank reconciliations
• Prepare payroll tax filings (Monthly, Quarterly and Annually) and support the payroll group as needed
• Support the assistant controller with a wide variety of functions including transactional processing, analysis, cost allocations, audit support and ad hoc analysis or reports as needed.
• Maintain accounting policies, procedures and controls in accordance with sound accounting principles, policies, and best practices. Solid knowledge of GAAP
• Highly detailed and organized.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
• Effectively communicate with peers, customers, leadership, and operations personnel to facilitate informed decision making.

Job Qualifications

Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent
• 2 years minimum of General Ledger reconciliation
• Solid knowledge of US GAAP
• Strong Excel skills including consistent use of vlookups and pivot tables
• Ability to wear multiple hats, be a team player
• Viewpoint® or similar ERP experience is preferred

Additional Requirement/Licenses/Certifications:

• Candidates must pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and pass a pre-employment drug screen

Education or Formal Training:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Equivalent

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
