ROLE SUMMARY

This position is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the areas of talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, succession planning and compensation and benefits. The position will provide leadership by articulating HR needs and recommendations to Management Team. The manager will oversee and/or complete a variety of daily operation requirements such as benefit planning, payroll services, and employee assistance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide overall leadership and guidance to HR function within SmartLam. This includes, but not limited to: recruiting, development, performance management, retention, training, compensation, benefits and succession planning.
• Collaborates with Corporate HR to ensure review and update of policies annually or as needed.
• Responsible for conducting New Hire Orientation on company policies, benefits and general safety (follow up with supervisor about on the job training).
• Manages semi-monthly payroll process to include data input of new hires, terminations, compensation changes, processing and reporting.
• Administer performance management process throughout the year. This includes new hire reviews, and annual performance review process for all employees. Support managers as needed, especially with performance management and improvement needs.
• Ensure company compliance with federal, state and local employment laws to include, but not limited to FLSA, ACA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, EEOC, USERRA, Affirmative Action, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, etc. Reporting is completed timely, maintains supporting documentation.
• Supports employee development through facilitation of employee training. Identifies training and development needs and facilitates training through internal and external resources.
• Oversee recruitment process for the Dothan Division, assists in interviewing, selection and promotes an exceptional onboarding experience.
• Review and update job descriptions annually or as needed.
• Participates in the preparation and distribution of written and verbal communications to employees providing information to inform them of benefit programs, education, policies, etc.
• Performs clerical functions associated with payroll, benefits, compliance such as updating records and processing insurance requests or processing leave documentation.
• Maintain all records related to employment and payroll. Coordinates data-related activities and ensures data archiving, filing, documentation and retrieval is completed accurately and in a timely manner. Develops and maintains various computer spreadsheets and database files.
• Coordinates various activities, arranges meetings and events and informs all involved parties.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or minimum 5+ years of HR experience within manufacturing environment with over 50 employees. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered.
• Working knowledge of HR related laws and regulations, and employment practices.
• Must have proven computer skills in: MS 365 Suites, PowerPoint a plus, and HRIS (ADP a plus). Effective use of social media platforms for recruiting.
• Knowledgeable in HR concentration areas such as employee relations, benefits, compensation, workforce planning and employment, occupational, employee development, and training.
• Experience in company sponsored health & welfare and retirement benefit plans.
• Professional certifications SHRM-SCP and/or SPHR preferred.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, conflict resolution and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively across the organization.
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
• Previous experience with OSHA recording, preferred.
