Role of the Regional Manager
The Regional Manager’s role is to oversee all aspects of hotels within the Sohal Hotels portfolio and ensure that services are being delivered to the highest possible standard to those hotels. Must be consistent with company strategy, policy and procedures; that managerial staff is supported and supervised effectively; that ADR ,OCC, and Rev goals are being met on a consistent basis, as well as keeping up with Scores and brand standards. The Regional Manager will play a key role in the overall management and strategic development of Sohal Hotels.
Reporting to: Ownership
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
– Management and support of Hotel GM’s and key employees.
– Ensure that all managerial staff receive regular support and supervision, performance management and annual appraisals.
– Ensure staff training needs are identified, responded to and that learning is promoted.
– Coordination and provision of regular team meetings with staff.
– Management of the recruitment process for staff to the service.
– Help coordinate and sometimes lead sales efforts at each hotel
– Ensure that all Sohal Hotels policy and procedures, guidelines are being fully implemented at all hotels and where necessary developing new policies.
– Ensure that quality and best practice are adhered to in all aspects of the work.
– Quality assurance Inspections: required to conduct property inspections as well as assisting GM’s to prepare for and respond to franchise inspections.
– Ensure Guest Scores are met to the highest standards
– Responsible for the management, delivery and development of Sohal Hotels work
– Participate in budget planning and manage approved budgets, and assist properties staying in line with Sohal Hotels financial procedures.
– Review P&Ls with ownership, review daily, weekly, bi-weekly, month end, quarterly and annual reports. Review Payroll Analysis and control OT, MPR and RPH and work with ownership to improve reports
– Must participate in staff and revenue management meetings for all properties
– Contribute to the management and strategic development.
– Participate in regular supervision with your manager and report any matter of concern in a timely manner.
– Identify training needs with property GM’s and participate in relevant training opportunities
– To be flexible in regard to working hours to meet the needs of the work. Working during unsocial hours is required.
-Ensures hotel is in compliance with all federal, state and local laws, including OSHA, EEOC, Wage Hour and Health laws.
Essential Requirements:
Degree in Business Management or other related area such as CHA certification
A minimum of 5 years work experience in the hotel industry including at least 3 years in a management role.
Experience of leading and managing a staff team
Experience of managing organization.
Experience of managing budgets, funding applications and other financial reports
Experience in F&B
Initiative, problem solving and openness to change
Required to work nights, some weekends and holidays as needed.
Required to pass background check.
Required to travel as needed.
Required to be on call when away from work as needed.
Will be required to sign a non-compete and confidentiality agreement.(Parameters to be determined but will include 10 mile radius and competitive hotel set)
Desirable Requirements:
Postgraduate qualification in any of the above areas.
Management training.
Experience in Project evaluation and Outcomes measurement.
IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Merlin, Opera
Training and facilitation skills
