Solomon Organization Hiring for Construction Laborer – Up to $23/hr Job at Watchung, NJ Full Time

The Solomon Organization is currently seeking an experienced Construction Laborer/Helper to join our capital improvements department. Team members must work well on a team and possesses a great attitude. This large apartment community counts on our team for construction capital improvement operations, and delivers a rewarding work environment for motivated team members

Position Duties:

• Performs tasks involving physical labor to include:
• Operates hand and power tools of all types
• Cleans and prepares job sites
• Cleans up rubble and debris
• Moves appliances/equipment
• Loads and unloads supplies from vehicles

• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

• Familiarity with the techniques and equipment used in construction.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance and carpentry preferred
• You also must be able to handle the physicality of our work outdoors: weather conditions, heavy lifting (30-80 pounds), and extensive walking.
• Standard work includes mowing, string trimming, hand weeding, pruning, edging, backpack blowing, hauling debris, etc.
• Other duties include loading/unloading of equipment, changing equipment blades and oil, cleaning, greasing machines, etc.

EXPECTATIONS:

Attendance is an imperative job function as is working in a team oriented environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS IN ADDITION TO THOSE LISTED ABOVE:

Ability to lift 50+ lbs. Position requires bending, lifting, kneeling, twisting, and performing installations at awkward angles. Work environment may include loud noises, dust, dirt, and minor hazards.
