Sourcebooks Hiring for Back End Magento Developer at Naperville, IL Full Time

Sourcebooks, a leading independent book publisher, is seeking a Back End Magento Web Developer in a fast-paced, results-oriented, and highly credible organization. This position involves working in day-to-day development and operations of an Adobe Commerce Cloud (Magento 2) ecommerce website, developing new features and functionality to improve the usability of existing company’s websites, as well as working with our internal teams using Microsoft Azure Logic Apps to find innovative solutions to solve the challenges that our customers face. Sourcebooks is a tech forward company, leaning on technology innovation to take our business to the next level. We’ll need you to:

• Apply your expertise in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, APIs and Adobe Commerce (Magento 2) to extend, enhance and build great ecommerce experiences, including:
• Creating custom modules and site functionally for Adobe Commerce
• Help develop back-end tools to support business demands and processes
• Integrating with 3rd party web services and APIs
• Installing/creating/troubleshooting codebase
• Produce well-tested, efficient code for high availability environment with performance in mind
• Adjusting themes to accommodate customizations

• Optimize code for maximum performance
• Develop integrations with Microsoft Azure Logic Apps to automate business processes in and out of the ecommerce ecosystem
• Be an advocate for quality code and have a curiosity for technology. You should like exploring new ideas and sharing what you know about everything from architecture to process
• Analyze and solve problems with high code quality, accuracy, and attention to best practices.
• Collaborate with a team of passionate professionals in various disciplines and departments (system admin, creative, ecommerce marketing) to deliver exceptional outcomes
• Gather and understand requirements and follow through on implementation
• Estimate effort required to implement changes and enhancements
• Unit test and take accountability for the quality of your work
• Able to work both solo and as a part of an effective team.
• Learn new technologies and the ability to execute quickly and with accuracy.

You must have:

• 2+ years experience developing on the Adobe Commerce (Magento 2) platform
• 3+ years experience with PHP and MySql
• Experience with REST APIs and familiarity with SOAP APIs
• Experience with JavaScript, JQuery, Knockout.js or similar JS Frameworks
• Able to use CSS, SCSS, LESS
• Experience building APIs in a modern stack
• Experience with GIT
• Experience with the LAMP stack
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) at all levels of our internal and client organizations.

This position allows for a remote or on-site schedule. There is the opportunity to work 100% remotely from the following states: New York, Illinois, Connecticut, Arizona, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin, New Jersey, or Maryland
