Under the supervision of Director of Fiscal Services, this position assists in accounting functions for the medical center and related organizations.
WORK PERFORMED
- Prepares monthly journal entries and financial statements for Superior Med, Inc., United Ambulance, GHS Real Estate Foundation and GH Enterprise
- Assists independent auditors with interim and year-end audits for all organizations.
- Maintain medical center’s pension financial statements, investments and audit review.
- Prepares monthly consolidated financial statements for Guernsey Health Systems and Guernsey Health Enterprises.
- Oversees Finance Clerk with respect to the accounts payable and monthly journal entries for related organizations.
- Prepares annual operating and capital budgets for related organizations.
- Maintains medical center’s statistical program
- Maintains FTE and other payroll reports
- Maintains CIP reports for Hospital
- Backups payroll and payables on an as needed basis
- Performs numerous other related duties and activities as requested.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
Responsibility for:
1. Properly recording accounting general journal entries and maintaining accuracy of trail balances for related organizations.
2. Compliance with established medical center policies and directives from supervisors.
3. Proper use of time, equipment and supplies.
4. Maintaining confidential information.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Training:
Four (4) year accounting degree or a two (2) year accounting degree with experience.
Experience:
Past general accounting experience required.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with both personal and mainframe computers is necessary. An understanding of basic English, good spelling and communication skills.
