Southland Holdings Hiring For Staff Accountant at Grapevine, TX Full Time

Southland Holdings is looking to bring a long-term temporary-to-full time Staff Accountant with exceptional organization skills and know-how into a growing organization. As a Staff Accountant under the direction of the Accounting Manager, you will assist in preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, general ledger reconciliation and internal reporting during the monthly close. You will support the development and implementation of accounting policies, as well as assist with quarterly reviews and annual audits, participate in compliance, and review schedules for the reporting processes.

Job Duties

• Perform month end close journal entries and account reconciliations and tasks with minimum supervision
• Prepare monthly field reports and answer field related questions with regard to cost inquiries from project managers
• Communicate routinely with Project Managers on a variety of job-related topics including change orders and budget adjustments
• Input appropriate budget information into Timberline using the cost code structure and categories in accordance with the budget set-up sheet provided by Project Manager.
• Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data
• Assist in aggregating and organizing requests from the external auditors, including working with other internal departments to obtain requests
• Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process
• Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed

• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance is a MUST
• High attention to detail and possess excellent organizational and writing skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
