We are a lifestyle medicine practice that works with our patients to optimize their health and prevent illness. You will assist our cardiology/internal medicine physician and our exercise physiologist on a daily basis in providing exercise and nutrition prescriptions as well as usual medical support. We are a membership practice that provides a dedicated level of service to our patients to assist them with making therapeutic lifestyle changes. As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner. There is an opportunity for you to learn “health coaching” skills on the job.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and document basic medical history
• Update and file medical records and insurance reports
• Arrange pre authorization for procedures and laboratory services
• Check with patients and type up patients charts
• Assist during medical examinations
• Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
• Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
• Phlebotomy and blood/urine sample preparation
• IM and SC injections

Skills

• Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary
• Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work
• Social perceptiveness and service oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organisational and planning skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software, we use Athena
• WA state license in medical assistance

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00 – $31.00 per hour

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
• Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• BLS Certification (Preferred)
• Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
• Certified Medical Assistant license for (Preferred)
