Calculates the market value of various types of properties including new construction, renovations, and additions, by reviewing comparable properties and the housing market.
Reviews building plans and other related construction documents.
Answers property owner’s questions concerning the valuation of the property
Prepares reports on the condition of inspected properties.
Maintains records, updating to reflect renovations and updates of properties
Working Environment/Physical Demands
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift to 10 pounds at times.
Assist customers at the public counter and by telephone; respond to public inquiries regarding departmental programs, services, policies, and procedures.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or G.E.D equivalent; one year in general office experience desired.
Knowledge and Skills
Ability to learn and have knowledge of
County policies and procedures
Office protocols and standards
General Office practices and equipment
Department operations relative to the area of assignment
Extensive knowledge of appraisal procedures.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent math skills
Ability to read documents such as building plans and property deeds.
Ability to accurately determine the value of a property.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Skills in:
Coordinating and performing a variety of office functions
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other staff, county departments, outside agencies, and the general public.
Communication effectively verbally and in writing
Strong sense of professionalism and discretion required.
