Logistics Manager

This management position is located at our U.S. Corporate Headquarter location in Gastonia, NC and will oversee and support the entire logistics processes for all Stabilus entity. Inclusive to material planning, production scheduling (external and inter-company), optimal inventory levels of all key GL accounts, inventory management, sales & distribution, and freight optimization for both incoming and outgoing materials., This position will leverage relationships with external and internal Sales Teams to ensure budget expectations are achieved, including supporting effective sales goals including new growth, customer retention, and support sales volume growth.
Essential Job Functions:
· Oversight of logistics operation functions in Stabilus Gastonia Plant.
· Optimize purchasing, logistics and inventory control processes which ensure the availability of raw materials, components, and packaging materials for optimized production in accordance with customer requirement.
· Enhance customer and supplier relationships, and actively participating and coordinating new customer, and supplier logistics requirements.
· Support the effective implementation of; new part introductions, engineering changes, new product launches, and phase out to minimize obsolescence exposure to Stabilus.
· Utilize the SAP-MRP system to effectively manage all materials; Raw SFG, FG, and FGM inventory.
· Oversee the control customer communication through all the EDI (E-Supplier Connect, and other web portals etc.…).
· Maintains Stabilus Gastonia Plant operations within budgetary constraints; analyzes costs and implements cost reduction measures as necessary.
· Maintains current knowledge of rates, tariffs, Hazmat, import and export regulations for all modes of the transportation industry including Air, Ocean, Ground and U.S. Postal service regulations to ensure optimal costs and service.
· Supports Distribution Center activity records (including lost/damaged shipments and employee on-site injuries) as required for insurance documentation and internal and external reporting requirements.
· Manage both direct and in-direct reports within logistics to assure all team members are accountable for their performance utilizing metrics to ensure department targets and goals are achieved.
· Support and assure KPI metrics, are reported out as required both accurately and timely.
· Participate in daily management staff meetings and coordinate regular department meetings to ensure effective communication throughout all levels.
· Manage and implement continuous improvements to enhance efficiency, organization, and economical movement of all materials in and out of the plant for space optimization.
· Effectively manage customer delivery performance ratings.
· Conduct performance reviews for staff via cornerstone per HR requirements.
· Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner by gathering and analyzing information. Develop alternate solutions, and work well within teams to solve problems.
· Implement, maintain, and sustain 7S and world class standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Directly, and/or directly supervises up to 50 employees in Gastonia.
· Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Stabilus HR policies and applicable laws.
Education, Training, Certifications:
· BA/BS in Engineering or Logistics
Experience:
· 5 years plus experience in Automotive companies with Logistics, warehouse management, and/or distribution supporting management and on-time shipment objectives.
· Proven expertise in performance analysis and reporting
· Strong quantitative and analytical skills managing multiple projects.
· Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Job Knowledge and Skills:
· Demonstrated expertise in SAP Logistics Modules (SD, LE, PP, FSCM)
· Strong expertise on OEM’s Customer Portals and Guidelines
· Demonstrated knowledge on MMOG.
· Strong problem solving and analytical abilities; competitive analysis research, conduct and manage complex financial models, based on total cost of ownership,
· Demonstrated techniques in negotiations of complex requests for equipment, supplies, and services from suppliers and subcontractors.
· Strong technical skills; spreadsheet, database, report preparation
· Distribution Skills; understanding of customer and market dynamic of goods and services.
· Project leadership and management skills
· Communicate effectively in group settings, develop strong relationships.
