Staff II, Associate Engineer Underfill Professional Engineer Full Time

Staff Associate Engineers perform professional engineering assignments not requiring licensure by the State Board of Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.

This position is a Staff II, Associate Engineer underfill Professional Engineer and is primarily focused on Dam Safety, although other water rights duties may be involved. The three main functions of this position include the routine inspection of existing dams across Nevada, the safe operation and maintenance of South Fork Dam in Elko, NV, and the permitting for new dams. The inspection of existing dams requires field work, as well as large amounts of data management and tracking skills. The permitting of new dams requires an in-depth knowledge of a broad range of civil engineering disciplines as well as complex construction techniques.
