THE ROLE
Your role stands at the intersection of youth organizing and the effort to make positive changes in educational equity and racial justice in Memphis. As a key member of Stand’s Memphis team at a moment of tremendous need and opportunity, you will be responsible for working with the Youth Justice for Action Council to develop their inherent power, connecting communities together, and leveraging that collective power for change using a team-organizing leadership model. The Organizer will be responsible for identifying, coaching, and training youth and building engaged teams committed to taking local, district, and state action in support of improving education in their community; developing the leadership skills of members; and initiating and leading campaigns in order to advocate for better outcomes for students. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supporting the Youth Justice for Action Council to build a diverse and highly skilled base of youth supporters and volunteers
Engage and develop leaders and members
Activate leaders and members to grow teams and win campaigns for racial justice work within the affiliate
QUALIFICATIONS:
SALARY RANGE: $45,510-$56,888 commensurate with experience. Generous benefits.
