The HR department is looking for a detail oriented, energetic and friendly professional to work as the HR Administrator who will assist in the daily operation of the HR office and assist the HR team along with other department leaders. Reports Directly To: Director, Human Resources
Provides administrative support services to assist the HR team to compile, maintain and process information relating to employee relations, recruitment and staffing, compensation, benefits, systems or training. Processes application forms, compiles statistics/reports, maintains employee records/filing systems and schedules training, interviews, meetings and equipment for the above programs/services.

Specific Accountabilities
- Provides administrative support as required (i.e. compiles reports, corresponds, files, answers phones, prepares orientation/training packets, coordinates internal and external training activities and meetings, course registration and educational reimbursement requests).
- Processes changes in employee status, pay, benefits, training, etc. by collecting completed forms, obtaining applicable approval signatures, ensuring data is complete and entering data within the applicable information systems.
- Compiles, prepares and distributes routine, ad hoc, special and legislatively required reports and documents related to personnel activities.
- Compiles data via Excel and Oracle for reporting on HR KPI’s.
- Researches and responds to questions from employees and managers regarding human resource programs, policies and procedures or refers to team members as appropriate.
- Assists with DOT / FAA program.
- Assist with FMLA, LOA, STD, LTD, Military Leave.
- Coordinates and assists with new employee orientations and ensures all necessary forms and documents are completed and returned.
- Maintains and updates digital filing and registration systems.
- Administers and maintains various contracts and programs (i.e. drug/alcohol, donation, recognition, training, educational aid, employment equity, summer student, work experience, etc.).
- Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
- Carries out special projects as assigned.
Technical Requirements
- Good organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Oracle or other HRIS System.
- Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge.
- Working knowledge of human resource information systems.
- Working knowledge of company administrative policies and procedures.
Background Information
The typical minimum level of education to perform this job competently is equivalent to high school completion or equivalent to high school completion with specialized training. The person can read text of medium difficulty requiring an understanding of basic concepts. He/she may be expected to write text intended to communicate non-technical information and, display command of spelling, grammar, punctuation and basic composition. People working at this level can be required to have certain specialized skills, and be able to comprehend somewhat complicated procedures.
Directly/indirectly related work experience representing continuous learning and required for someone to perform this job competently is six months to one year.
Ongoing work assignments typically have clearly defined goals. The incumbent’s education, training, and previous experience ensure work assignments are successfully carried out because he/she understands what is expected, as well as the best approach to take.
