A Brief Overview
The HR Generalist will demonstrate knowledge of HR services across multiple HR disciplines. This could include skills such as talent acquisition, employee records, growth and development, leaves of absence, compliance, and exit management. In this role, the HR Generalist is empowered to resolve a broad range of customer inquiries and requests. The HR Generalist will also discern when and how to escalate cases requiring a deeper level of specialization, or more strategic level of service.

What you will do
Uses a needs-based approach with employees to provide information on a variety of HR topics and executes transactions to independently resolve customer inquiries/requests via customer channel of choice within service level timeframes.
Executes HR administrative duties as assigned such as immigration processing, recruitment coordination, employee file maintenance..
Routes customer inquiries / requests as needed to outside resources (e.g., Payroll, LPCH HR, 3rd party vendors)
Documents all requests / inquiries in the case management system
Searches content in Knowledgebase and other HR tools to resolve customer requests / inquiries (e.g. regular use of HR FAQs) – participate in training HR department on FAQs to increase everyone’s knowledge of core HR Services
Informs customers of self-service HR resources and flags the need for self-service resources in cases where appropriate
Conducts warm transfers to other HR team members as needed, sharing relevant details from cases and customer conversation
Consistently applies HR policies and state, general, and / or country laws and practices
Completes offline activities in support of HR service delivery outside of customer intake activities
Participates and contributes to strategic HR projects and initiatives that support SHC’s People Strategy.
Attends Generalist relevant training across specialty teams and Centers of Expertise and participates in continuous improvement measures as directed by HR Services leadership.
Proactively shares knowledge and expertise to help others to develop and grow
Drive for results while working independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Able to meet or exceed departmental call metric objectives and service level standards.
Performs audits on employee data and files to ensure compliance with our HR policies and procedures. Supports the fulfillment of employee files for mock surveys and compliance audits. Follows up with managers to request what is needed to support and maintain compliant records.
Files documentation to support processes and employee records when appropriate.

High school diploma or GED.
Experience Qualifications
0-2 years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Broad knowledge of HR programs, policies, and procedures for some of the HR Services specialty areas (e.g. Benefits, Leaves, Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Employee & Labor Relations, Timekeeping, Separations, and Records)
Ability to efficiently collect information and ask probing questions to understand customer needs
Ability to work efficiently and effectively while maintaining attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills; the ability to listen and explain HR specialty areas.
Demonstrated customer-orientation, including ability to diffuse challenging situations and maintain a professional and courteous demeanor and tone
Ability to prioritize workload and provide timely follow-up and resolution
Skilled in conducting research and using existing knowledge to resolve inquiries / requests
Ability to navigate case management and ACD/IVR systems
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Established technical skills with the ability to easily utilize multiple applications simultaneously. Proficient in utilizing computer applications for communicating, gathering, and tracking information (e.g. Microsoft Word, MS Excel, ServiceNow, etc.)
Demonstrated passion for service; strong client-focus and the desire to build relationships during each interaction.
Demonstrated strong work ethic with a high level of integrity, responsiveness, and ownership to build trust with employees and colleagues.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $28.17 – $35.92 per hour
