The Georgia Department of Labor is accepting applications to fill the UI Claims Examiner Associate positions in the Benefits Payment Control Unit at the Georgia Department of Labor Headquarters in downtown Atlanta.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Reviews unemployment insurance claims for overpayments
Investigates potential overpayment and fraud leads
Processes Employer and Claimant Wage Audit Notices
Conducts fact-finding procedures on an overpayment to determine whether the overpayment was due to fraud
Renders fraud and non-fraud overpayment determinations
Processes recovery payments received and prepares daily deposit
Reviews appeals that are remanded to the overpayment unit
Reviews New Hire information received
Identifies any issue(s) and determines the correct department(s) to address the issue(s)
Communicates with employers, claimants and other interested parties
Performs daily clerical duties and follow- up tasks in support of overpayment/fraud investigations activities
