This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified applicants to fill the current vacancies and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.
Salary: $2,816 to $3,425 per month (SR-9, Step C to H).
Note: The starting monthly salary is at the minimum rate of pay advertised above.
Shift Work: Applicants must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends.
As a condition of employment with the State of Hawaii, all qualified external candidates who have been given a conditional offer of employment must show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination and shall be fully vaccinated by his/her/their employment start date. Duties Summary
Independently performs complex library support work; supervises and participate in performing moderately complex library support work; provides all non-professional support for a library; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:
General Experience: One year of clerical work experience which demonstrated knowledge of spelling and arithmetic; the ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions, and compare words and numbers quickly and accurately. This experience must also demonstrate knowledge of and ability to perform various clerical procedures, operate various kinds of office equipment, and deal with others in a tactful and polite manner.
Specialized Experience: One year of progressively responsible experience in a library which involved performing various library support activities (e.g., circulation work, stack maintenance, processing orders for library materials, posting receipt of periodicals and other materials, locating and verifying bibliographic information using standard sources, etc.) and which demonstrated knowledge of and required the application of library terminology, practices, policies and procedures and understanding of the nature and organization of library materials.
