Description of Duties/Essential Functions
Under direction, independently analyzes, verifies and approves the Agency’s complex voucher payments (manual and electronic), including contractual payroll payments; examines and verifies the semi-monthly contractual payroll for accounting information in conformance with the Comptroller’s Statewide Accounting Practices, Agency contracts and with the State purchasing and procurement rules and regulations; responds to Agency and Vendor inquiries regarding payment process and payment status; verifies accounting adjustment documents in the Programmatic and Administrative Accounting System (PAAS) for prior payment transactions; serves as designated lead worker.
Minimum Requirements
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college and one year of technical accounting experience or four years of related clerical bookkeeping experience; requires extensive knowledge of accounting techniques office methods and procedures; requires working knowledge of state or non-state accounting procedures; requires working knowledge of principles and functions of standard office accounting machines and equipment; requires ability to apply established accounting methods and techniques.
