Position Overview
Under the general direction of the Division Chief, implements policies for the application and licensure of Assisted Living and Shared Housing establishments. Organizes and plans activities of unit staff. Evaluates the Division and makes recommendations for changes and improvements to administrative functions. Serves as working supervisor.
Job Responsibilities
Implements policies and management procedures to monitor and evaluate the license application and issuance processes. Identifies and applies procedures in assisted living and shared housing establishment licensure program to ensure compliance with provisions of the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act. Recommends plans for using program resources.
Serves as working supervisor; assigns and reviews work; provides guidance and training to assigned staff; counsels staff regarding work performance; reassigns staff to meet day-to-day operating needs; establishes annual goals and objectives; approves time off; prepares and signs performance evaluations.
Interprets the provisions of the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act for requests for information regarding the necessity and process for establishment licensure. Implements procedures and assists with process for FOIA request to meet time mandates.
Confers with management regarding integration of recommendations from the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Advisory Board and the licensure program to resolve administrative problems and improve program functions.
Evaluates requests for changes in establishment capacity and determines if establishments meet requirements; coordinates this process with LTC Design Standards Unit and approves changes.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration.
Requires one year of professional experience in a public or private organization or completion of an agency approved professional management training program.
