Monitors the Federal UA contract to include: * inventory of urinalysis supplies * maintenance of a lavatory for collecting urine specimens *ensure collectors receive appropriate detailed training that includes a review of federal OSHA Blood borne Pathogen regulations and provides documentation of training for personnel files *ensure Chain of Custody and Specimen Collection Statements have been signed when needed. *develop and operate an automated phone notification system for random urine collections *maintain a log for all urinalysis specimens collected *comply with Federal UA contract and provide all required documentation to Federal Probation.
Performs searches of clients clothed and unclothed as well as performing searches of clients’ quarters. Performs pat downs of clients entering the facility to ensure no contraband is being brought into the facility. Also conducts searches in other areas of the facility and may be required to search visitors. Identify and confiscate contraband and follows departmental procedures on disposal and chain of evidence of contraband.
Oversight of Global Positioning System (GPS) to include: *monitor of Home Confinement GPS curfew checks *enter home zones, generating their points and cross referencing with client’s address *send an alert if client is out of their zone past curfew *conduct accountability checks and document on checklist and in ICON *maintain GPS inventory spreadsheet and physical inventory of all devices, parts, and chargers *repair, remove, replace, and/or hook-up GPS equipment as needed and notify GPS Command Center *retrieve GPS monitors if removed without approval, notify Command Center, email case manager, and document in ICON.
Recognizes and responds to potentially dangerous behavior and acting out by utilizing good verbal de-escalation skills and, if necessary, uses the least amount of force necessary to gain control of the situation. Seeks assistance from local law enforcement if the situation is not de-escalating. Conduct urinalysis and Breathalyzer testing on all offenders according to district policy. Updates ICON generic notes for each offender, collect and receipt into ICON banking each clients’ pay check or outside funds, disburse weekly residential refund checks to clients. Monitors the clients’ use of prescription and over the counter medications. Assists and prepares food in the kitchen as needed, monitor sack lunches/hot plates for clients leaving/ returning to/from work after normal kitchen hours.
