Main Purpose of Job
The Coordinator is tasked by the Opioid Use Disorder and Examinations Treatment Act to; (1) work with other entities to evaluate the implementation of the bill, as specified; (2) work with MDH to apply for federal funding to support the implementation of the bill; and (3) gather and report extensive information from local correctional facilities to the General Assembly.

POSITION DUTIES
Supervise specific programs, sub-programs, or operational units.
The Coordinator supervises the implementation of the act by working with various stakeholders and agencies to ensure the requirements of the act are met. The Coordinator supervises the federal grant, Residential Substance Abuse Treatment (RSAT) program. With the RSAT program, the coordinator strategizes the foremost ways to utilize funding received from the federal grant.
Participates in formulating, establishing, or modifying program goals and objectives.
The Coordinator works closely with correctional facilities to form project charters and project timelines for implementing the act’s requirements. The Coordinator establishes RSAT program objectives in line with the RSAT federal grant through funding strategies and sub-awards. The employee will assist in the State’s expansion of the Act and related activities to promote a continuum of care within correctional facilities statewide. This includes but is not limited to expanding access to the Act’s requirements to the Department of Corrections.
Advises departmental officials regarding administrative practices, procedures, or policies.
The Employee regularly meets with high-level stakeholders involved in implementing the Act’s requirements. The Employee advises senior staff at the GOCPYVS, DPSCS, MDH, OOCC, local correctional facilities, and other various stakeholders on the best practices relating to the implementation of the Act.
The Employee will attend workgroups, committee meetings, and conferences on behalf of the JRA team.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Three years of administrative staff or professional work.

Preference Will Be Given to Candidates Who Have the Following:
Program management experience working with state and local entities in the oversight of programs.
Experience in applying for federal funding and grants.
Administrative skills in the collection and analysis of data for preparing reports and tracking progress of activities and program results.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

Contractual employees who work for an agency and have a current employment contract of 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) will be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. Leave
Paid leave will accrue at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked.
