What will you do?
Coordinates & reviews local Early Invention (EI) programs, for eligible children (i.e., birth to age 3) & processes including evaluation, assessment, service coordination, transition, & timely service delivery & implementation of procedural safeguards & Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) guidance. Provides technical assistance, training & oversight for Ohio’s EI providers in the areas of service coordination, service delivery, evaluation, assessment, & Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) outcome development & other topics; ensures EI service delivery is aligned with applicable federal laws (e.g., Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) & Part C regulations) & Ohio Part C rules & evidence based practices; provides technical direction & training to & oversight of EI Service providers & local EI leadership specified in IDEA Part C (e.g., occupational, physical & speech therapists, nurses, social workers & EI specialist) across multiple provider agencies; collects & analyses data on EI service provider skills & determines provider education &/or training needs in areas of provision of federally mandated & evidence based evaluation, assessment, IFSP development & service delivery; collects & analyzes data in conjunction with Early Intervention Data System (EIDS) data, to determine trends, provider needs for system technical assistance &/or training & compliance; collaborates with EI monitoring team on county focused monitoring system, due process investigations & other activities related to EI evaluations/assessments, IFSP development & EI service delivery.
Provides support & assistance with Ohio’s Part C EI rule development, guidance documents, training & input on policy development; communicates clearly & effectively in writing, telephone &/or in person with state & county staff, EI providers & other constituents; maintains correspondence documentation, trend analysis, & other issues to assist in preparation of internal & external reporting; maintains in-depth knowledge of all rules & regulations governing EI services, as well as the research & practice literature guiding evidence based practices in Part C early intervention.
Represents DODD on special task forces & projects when assigned; provides support to other regional DODD EI specialists as needed; attends conferences & training sessions.
**This position is telework eligible under the agency’s current telework agreement.**

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Possession of Developmental Specialist Certification issued pursuant to rule 5123-10-05.
Or
Possession of Developmental Specialist Certification or Early Intervention Supervisor Certification issued pursuant to rule 5123:2-5-05 as it existed on June 30, 2021.
Knowledge of child growth & development, family dynamics, early intervention practices & administration; evidence-based early intervention practices and the principles of coaching and adult learning; federal regulations and state laws.* Skill in use of personal computer & state-licensed software.* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts & draw valid conclusions; develop policies & procedures governing early intervention & family support services; gather, collate & classify information about data, people or things; ability to work within a team structure; handle routine & sensitive contacts with early intervention providers & other staff personnel in county boards of developmental disabilities, officials/representatives in other state agencies, local agencies, & colleges & universities, advocates & parents.

Supplemental Information:
1st consideration will be given to current State of Ohio SEIU/District 1199 employees.
Hourly wage will be paid at step 1, unless otherwise specified by collective bargaining agreement or rules outlined in the ORC/OAC.
Unusual Working Conditions:
Requires travel throughout State of Ohio & may require overnight stay. Must be willing & able to secure a Driver License OR supply your own transportation.
