DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise and manage accounts receivable unit to include managing electronic payments and processes. Manages, monitors, and processes company and state program student sponsorships and the deferred tuition payment plan program for students.
Supervise and manage cashiering functions. Ensures the accurate, efficient processing of student payments and other College income through proper cash management and compliance with College policies and procedures.
Develop, manage and maintain direct communication in a courteous and respectful manner with students and/or parents regarding available payment options, interpretation of invoicing, and College policies and procedures.
Manages company and student refund processing in coordination with external agencies.
Supervise banking and merchant services relationships in implementing new fiscal electronic technologies and monitoring ongoing services. Supervise SC Department of Revenue-Debt Offset application and other collection services, ensuring compliance with bad debt collection efforts
Complete internal review assignments, risk management research, and financial analysis. Monitor and take appropriate actions to minimize the risk to cashier staff and the accounts receivable office. Review and recommend policy and procedure changes relating to fiscal matters.
Other duties as assigned including, but are not limited to, processing returned checks in collaboration with internal departments and external offices if appropriate, tracking student accounts, preparation of annual 1098-T tax reports, interacting with external auditors in providing information and access to accounting records as required, professional development to remain current in knowledge of software related to accounts receivable and cash receipts, and participation in college wide activities and committees.
High School diploma and professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing, finance, or commercial lending.
