Job Title: Account ExecutiveDepartment: SalesJob Status (FLSA): Exempt – Full Time*Trucking experience is a mustPosition Summary:This position is primarily responsible for identifying, qualifying, and securing new business for Sterling Transportation (STI), Sterling Brokerage Services (SBS). Position requires maintaining close contact with new and existing customers through the development of strong working relationships, troubleshooting issues and ensuring customer satisfaction by performing the following duties.Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identifies and develops business opportunities; secures new business from prospective customers and upsells additional business from existing customers by means of field meetings, virtual meetings, phone meetings and email. (minimum of 20 weekly on-site call/appointments).
• Documents all call activity and opportunities developed in Transoft CRM daily, creates call reports and submits daily sales reports regarding quotations, special handling requirements, and projected cargo to the Branch Manager.
• Creates and submits weekly call plan to the Branch Manager.
• Provides monthly sales forecast.
• Monitors account productivity and ensures business meets margin requirements.
• Secures opportunities to quote on customer requirements.
• Communicates customer requirements to the appropriate department, i.e. special handling, billing process, communication protocols, key contact information, etc.
• Manages credit process for new customer set up and assist in collection efforts when needed.
• Create and manage process for rate and service agreement for new and existing customers.
• Provides daily rate quote follow-up with customers.
• Performs all assigned duties in the assigned sales territory, to be determined by the GM/Branch Manager.
• Establishes professional customer/vendor relationships with appropriate personnel at all applicable department levels.
• Participate and present as needed in department and group sales meetings.
• Represents Sterling Transportation at industry events, trade shows and meetings.
• Handles special assignments and projects as required.
• Performs assigned duties with minimum supervision.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Working knowledge of personal computers and facility with common business applications, including both spreadsheet and word processing software (i.e., Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.)

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Organization, Time Management, presentation Skills (Power Point)
• Sound business judgment, quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong work ethic, characterized by initiative, drive, and goal orientation

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years of outside sales experience/ transportation experience
• May require some travel (domestic) on an as needed basis
• Experience in Transportation sales is preferred by not required
• Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred
