General Summary:At Steve Madden, our Payroll Associate is responsible for assisting in the processing of payroll as well as the day-to-day operations of the department. This position is look for a dynamic, hardworking and conscientious individual who is willing jump right in and make a difference.Major Responsibilities:* Enters all payroll related data necessary to process Payroll using ADP Enterprise (EV5) & ADP Etime for Time & Attendance* Weekly/Biweekly processing of Corporate & Retail payrolls for 2,500 employees including commissions, returns, bonuses, garnishments, manual checks and taxes ensuring that payroll processing is accurate, complete and by submission deadlines* Communicate clearly and effectively with employees as needed to resolve issues or inform them of changes* Appropriately escalate and communicate with management whenever necessary* Understand, analyze and accurately maintain various payroll schedules and reconciliations* Ensuring compliance with all applicable company policies, rules, and regulations* Liaison between Employees, Payroll, Human Resources and Benefits as it pertains to payroll processing* Confidentiality of data is a must and must be maintained* Provide supporting documentation for internal & external audits and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance* Prepare manual checks/payments as required (Immediate pay states)* Special projects as requested by management* Perform related duties as assignedSpecific Job Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Accounting or Business Management degree preferred* At least 3 -5 years of payroll experience in a fast-paced environment* Confidentiality is a must Excellent written and verbal communication skills.* Ability to work independently and in a team environment.* Ability to pay attention to details and be organized.* Ability to project professionalism over the phone and in person.* Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.* Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.* Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Education, Licenses, Certificates, Registrations and/or Experience:* Degreed professional. Accounting or Business Management degree preferred* At least 3 -5 years of payroll experience in a fast-paced environment* Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)* Strong analytical skills and reconciliation experience* Experience with ADP Enterprise (EV5) & ADP Etime a Plus* CPP or FPC is a PlusFull-time
