Title: Accountant Stewart Candy Company

Reports to: Controller

Job Description: Blackshear, GA 31516

Responsible for daily accounting functions including general ledger maintenance, internal financial analysis, and external government reporting.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• General ledger analysis and monthly financial close
• Generate periodic financial performance reports.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Periodic governmental licensing and reporting
• Calculation and payment of customer cigarette rebates.
• Other financial analysis and duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Back up other accounting personnel as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of accounting close cycle, internal accounting controls and financial reporting; proficient in use of spreadsheet, word processing, and e-mail applications; ability to effectively communicate with customers, external agencies, and workers across core functional areas; ability to recognize variances in financial performance, identify causes, and make corrections.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Four year degree in Accounting; public accounting experience; accounting work experience in wholesale distribution and manufacturing environments.

Required Physical Demands:

Normal office environment. Maintain focus for extended periods of time; walk warehouse or manufacturing facility floors; light lifting of accounting records; limited day and overnight travel.
