Role and Responsibilities

SDC is seeking an experienced individual to fill our HR Generalist position located on-site at our Orangeburg, NY headquarters. The HR Generalist will serve as a member of the HR team and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department’s daily functions including HRIS management, benefits administration, payroll administration, and recruitment.

Responsibilities:

• Process bi-weekly payroll and generate related reporting.
• Perform HRIS updates and ensure accurate accrual information.
• Manage the recruitment process including review of job postings, creation and monitoring of job posts online, sharing relevant resumes with hiring manager and processing background checks for applicants.
• Administer onboarding process including preparing documents, performing new hire orientations and entering information into HRIS.
• Manage benefit administration including enrollment and benefit changes, processing of carrier invoices, generation of intercompany invoices and COBRA administration.
• Assist with leave administration.
• Update and maintain employee records, both paper and electronically.
• Be the HRIS system expert and build upon existing technology to streamline processes and enhance employee experience.
• Partner with IT department to develop and maintain HR web-based portal to enhance employee experience.
• Assist with administration of mandatory training initiatives, including user management of online platforms, tracking and documenting compliance.
• Help document and maintain company policy and communicate them effectively to employees upon request.
• Respond to human resources related inquiries.
• Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices.
• Support HR initiatives and projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications

• At least three years of demonstrated experience working in a HR generalist capacity.
• Previous experience with payroll and recruiting.
• Able to prioritize and work on various assignments simultaneously.
• Must be technically savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Possess the ability and willingness to connect with all levels of the organization.
• A high level of attention to detail, organizational skills and confidentiality is essential.
