Special Education & Science Teacher (2021-22)

Job Description:

The Summit School is seeking candidates who hold NYS certification in Students with Disabilities, 7-12 & Science, 7-12 for anticipated full time vacancies.

Primary Responsibilities include:

• Identify specific student learning challenges; develop, design and implement differentiated lessons and programs to address these challenges.
• In collaboration with instructional teams, prepare student IEP’s
• Work collaboratively in order to identify and support students academically, socially and emotionally and provide opportunities for students to explore life and career goals.
• Provide instruction in a variety of settings, use effective instructional techniques customized to individual students’ goals and objectives; provide appropriate instructions to other classroom staff.
• Maintain accurate and complete records as required.
• Have the ability to self-evaluate, be reflective and problem solve.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
