Position Summary
This position report to the Director of Business Development and the C.E.O. The manager coordinates with leadership in crafting short and longer-term strategies to ensure that operations run smoothly and, in a cost, effective manner for our Shafter Depo Operations. The Manager introduces and oversees systems and activities to maintain oversight of overall improvement in business processes; operational systems; productivity; and monitors metrics and indices reflecting performance.
Essential Responsibilities
Monitor, develop and coordinate a daily delivery plan utilizing equipment, manpower, and other resources to ensure that work assignments are completed on timely and as ordered.
Ensure necessary resources of labor, equipment and time are available to allow maximum productivity of operations staff.
Guarantee load quality, timelines, and work efficiency goals are met.
Ensure incoming phone calls to dispatch h are handled from drivers and customers to mitigate issues and resolve problems.
Manages driver’s hour of services per FMCSA regulations and to minimize overtime while still maintaining established customer service and delivery metrics.
Communicate and implement company goals consistent with established company policies and procedures.
Conducts performance reviews and staff meetings to assure employee satisfaction, constructive communication, increased knowledge and consistency of operations.
Maintain driver schedules, coordinating changes with dispatch as needed.
Partner with Safety & Training Manager to develop and maintain driver meetings.
Ensure timely and accurate data entry of all services performed.
Maintain and develop strong working relationship with Client management staff.
Ensure all Client orders are confirmed from system daily and communicate exceptions.
Develop and implement development plan and training for dispatch staff.
Recruit qualified candidates as need for open positions with in the operations.
Supervise and assign specific responsibilities to all operation personnel, which includes route delivery, ensuring prompt and accurate delivery/pick-up of all services requests for customers and other transportation activities required by the company and customers.

Minimum Experience And Qualifications
Three (3) years experience in transportation
One (1) to three (3) years of experience in transportation management
One (1) year of dispatching experience
Bi-Lingual a plus
Strong organizational skills
Strong team building and interpersonal skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Ability to work on several projects simultaneously
Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing information quickly
Ability to keep tight deadlines
Preferred Experience And Qualifications
Knowledge of all applicable regulations – FTA, FMCSA and DOT
Strong analytical skills

Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
