Job Title Plant Accountant
Location Springfield, Oregon 50% / Roseburg, Oregon 50%
Reports to Corporate Controller / VP of Finance
Wage DOE, Salary Exempt
Hours per shift 9 hour shift, with two 10-minute breaks and a 1-hour lunch, overtime as needed
Position Summary The Plant Accountant is responsible for reporting financial results, reconciliation and general ledger reports for one or more manufacturing divisions at Swanson Group. Responsibilities include providing financial support to Plant Managers and supervisors; assist with the financial statement preparation with the Corporate Controller; maintenance of accounting policies; and maintenance of production reporting. The Plant Accountant is expected to identify and communicate significant issues that fall within his/her sphere of influence such as operational issues, financial results, Company policies, efforts or work quality of accounting department (includes peers, analysts, controllers, accountants, etc.), personnel issues, workload allocation, etc.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Exceptional typing, 10-key and excel skills, strong analytical skills and trouble shooting skillsCollege degree in accounting or business related concentration is required
Infor M3 or equivalent ERP system use is preferredOffice procedures with great attention to detail and accuracy
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and year-end financial analysisReport financial resultsDevelop and maintain operational planning toolsEnsure accurate and balanced intercompany accountingMaintain accurate and detailed record of property, plant, and equipment for manufacturing location Develop and maintain tracking tools for DEQ data for Title V permit renewalsCreate and distribute weekly or monthly reportsCommunicate and collaborate with VP of Finance, VP of Manufacturing, Corporate Controller, Plant Manager, and Plant SupervisorsProvide financial guidance and support for miscellaneous issues such as operations analysis and timber analysisCoordination of the annual financial statement audit and tax schedules for the locationProduce and maintain financial statements, production reports, inventory reports, and miscellaneous supporting reports
