Swarm Transport Hiring for EXPORT/IMPORT LEAD AGENT Job at Medley, FL Full Time

Job Description:

• Assist with quotes by working with carriers and overseas agents.
• Negotiate rates, contracts and spot rates with carriers and agents. Review freight rates with carriers to determine the most efficient and cost-effective method of moving freight.
• Create customer profiles in systems and ensure all process and procedures are followed, as well as properly documented.
• Serve as point of contact for import/export related questions and inquiries.
• Arrange bookings; coordinate freight movement with customers, shippers, carriers, agents, and third parties; from origin to destination; including pick up, storage, and delivery.
• Follow up with customers to resolve daily inquiries.
• Initiate and handle claim process for damaged and lost cargo as needed.
• Report the warehouse receipts to agents/customers and advise any discrepancies to avoid mishandling of goods.
• Tracking, tracing, POD confirmation and advise customers/agents as needed with timely updates.
• Assists with ensuring that payable and receivable documents are completed accurately and forwarded within time constraints. Produce Invoice and correct billings for customers.
• Identify problems, report them to direct supervisor and proactively resolve any issues to minimize the impact on the client.
• Provide warehouse with instructions related to export and import shipment.
• Receive, review, and process import documentation for accounts.
• Ensure import documentation is accurately processed, distributed, and released to carrier, customers, and agents in a timely manner.
• Work with Brokerage, FTZ and CFS to coordinate and monitor the release of goods from the carrier, customs, or other governmental agency examinations that may be required.
• Rate export documents correctly taking advantage of special contracts and promo codes.
• Initiate, prepare and process documentation for shipments according to established procedures and regulations.
• Prepare, route, and cut air waybills and manifests. Process shipments timely to meet gateway cutoffs. Print all necessary export documents and labels.
• Ensure all documentation guidelines are met according to the TSA regulations.
• Send pre-alert to destination offices/agents.
• Assist with SED and ISF fillings.

What you’ll need to know:

• A minimum of two years of import/export experience, customer service or logistics experience a must.
• Experience working in international freight forwarding (air, ocean, ground)
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Ability to work under pressure and tight timelines.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Advance computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• High school diploma/GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Inventory maintenance experience a plus.
• Magaya Experience a plus
• Experience with FTZ, Bonded and CFS a plus

Additional Notes: Must be willing to work as a team and help with any other task require by management.

Schedule: Full time M-F 8:00am to 5:00pm, will need to be able to reply to emails overnight for freight related questions coming from Asia and Europe.
