We are hiring for the front of house at our shop in Kingston, NY. Responsibilities for this role include helping customers, setting up the bakery counter and maintaining it throughout the day, preparing coffee and tea drinks and keeping up the shop.

This is a part time role, 2 days/week 9+ hours per day. Ideal schedule for us is Tuesday and Saturday. This job has the potential of growing into a managerial position.

Pay rate for this role is $14/hr plus tips, which are split amongst staff.

Responsibilities

• Greeting customers, taking their order and packaging it.

• Setting up the bakery counter and preparing drinks each morning for opening.

• Sharing information about our items both made in house and offered from other makers/vendors.

• Monitoring the visual appeal and the availability of baked goods on display.

• Restocking the cooler and dry goods sections.

• Folding and restocking boxes for baked goods.

• Maintaining a clean and tidy baked goods counter and performing other duties on request.

Skills

• Experience in customer service and/or food service required

• A welcoming and friendly demeanor

• An ability to work quickly, with precision and attention to detail

• Attention to tidiness and cleanliness

• Understanding of and strict adherence to food safety practices

• Excellent time-management skills, and a willingness to jump in on a variety of tasks

• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment

• Team spirit, with a collaborative attitude
