Regional Director of Construction – Telecommunications
We seek a highly organized, self-motivated individual to join our Construction Team as a Regional Director of Construction. This role is responsible for managing the construction process for a region of the Company to produce quality projects to customer specifications and within the timeframe and budget required. They will plan, coordinate, and manage multiple projects with customers while managing field construction managers and subcontractors.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, prioritize and organize material deliveries, equipment, manpower and subcontractors in a manner ensuring that projects progress in an efficient and productive manner.
- Provide guidance and direction to all field and office construction personnel including but not limited to subcontractors.
- Assist leadership in setting strategic goals and implementing strategic initiatives for the region and managing customer relationships.
- Remain knowledgeable and up to date on customer specifications and produce quality sites, which meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Inspect job sites to ensure construction is performed in accordance with plans and specifications, and that customer and company quality standards are met. Immediately implement corrective action for any deficiencies identified.
- Maintain and enforce OSHA safety practices and perform daily job site safety inspections.
- Interface with market representatives to resolve issues, schedule customer provided equipment deliveries and ensure total customer satisfaction.
- Ability to interpret and communicate project plans and standards to support staff, labor crews, subcontractors, vendors and customers.
- Oversees project plans, objectives, procedures and performance standards.
- Adhering to and upholding company’s safety culture on site, leading by example and developing the expected safety culture on each project.
- In coordination with Human Resources and senior management, make recommendations on hires, promotions, terminations, and other HR related activities for the team.
- Other duties as required.
- Provide training and direction to all project teams.
- Advanced knowledge with Aerial and Underground (plowing, boring, etc) placement of fiber.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10-15 years of related telecom industry construction and/fiber placement experience, vendor and customer management experience with proven managerial responsibilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and goal-oriented.
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills with ability to balance and prioritize assignments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment, managing multiple commitments and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and lead a team to the completion of and in conformance with schedule, customer requirements and budget guidelines.
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving history.
- Able to pass drug screening and background check.
- Travel required at times.
- Able to meet physical demands of the position, which may involve sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting, working at heights, in confined spaces, and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, etc.)
