Tandem HR Hiring For Senior Accountant at Westchester, IL Full Time

Position Summary
The Senior Accountant will have accountability of mission‐critical portions of the income statement & balance sheet. The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing reports and reconciliations,
maintaining general ledger and assisting audit preparations. The position will contribute to the success of the organization by providing the Finance & Accounting leadership with insightful variance analysis and recommended actions, where necessary. All duties will be accomplished with a view towards process improvement, enhanced controls and efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Facilitate accurate processing of general ledger activity and ensure accuracy in postings form
• internal and external systems.
• Prepare and post intercompany transactions.
• Imports all payroll transactions daily.
• Own assigned areas and processes for the month‐end close. Prepare and maintain reconciliation workpapers, identifying and analyzing variances, resolving discrepancies as well as supporting preparation of monthly reporting packages.
• Assist with budget preparation.
• Assist with preparations for quarterly and annual audits; Investigate and resolve various audit findings and account discrepancies.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend changes contributing to enhanced accounting processes and programs based on best practices.
• Respond to various internal and external requests for information and clarification.
• Support other members of the accounting team as well as other internal teams as needed.
• Create a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual for accounting policy and regulations androll out reconciliation procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Skills, and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required.
• 3‐5 years of professional experience, preferably in in a high transaction volume and/or services industry.
• Multi‐entity environment experience a plus.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, with an excellent proficiency in Excel
• Cloud‐based ERP system a plus
• Sage Intacct experience highly desired
• Strong accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and task‐balancing skills
• Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures
• Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner and with strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Detail oriented, professional attitude and reliable
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Self‐motivated team player with a customer service orientation
• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast‐paced and high‐volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
