Tarleton State University School of Health and Service Professions seeks a dynamic and collegial individual to serve as the founding
Program Director for the developing residential Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. This position is a full-time, 12-month tenure-track
faculty appointment at the level of Associate Professor or Professor. The DPT program will be a 3-year residential program housed in a new
multi-million dollar building on the Tarleton State University campus in Stephenville, TX. The successful candidate is expected to develop a
contemporary Doctor of Physical Therapy curriculum, develop and implement curriculum and program assessment plans, achieve and maintain
CAPTE accreditation, recruit a dynamic faculty team to successfully deliver the curriculum, promote scholarship within the Program and the
School, and represent the University in the community and at the state and national level. Also, the successful candidate will have
leadership experience, a demonstrated understanding of higher education and contemporary clinical practice. The candidate must be licensed
in their state of residence and eligible for licensure in Texas. The position is open and will remain open until filled.

Primarily responsible for the development, accreditation, and leadership of the new Doctor of Physical
Therapy Program and the program’s teaching/learning process and will also participate in the necessary operations of the institution.
Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate.

Administrative: The DPT Program Director is responsible for providing leadership and support for faculty and staff for the Doctor
of Physical Therapy Program; creating a positive environment for teaching, research, and service; and working collaboratively with faculty,
University administrators and other constituent groups to develop the new DPT program, achieve and maintain CAPTE accreditation, and
maintain the continued quality of the program’s curriculum and outcome measures. The Program Director is obligated to: recruit, hire,
train and evaluate faculty and staff within the academic unit. Engage in strategic planning and institutional effectiveness. Supervise
student advising and registration. Maintain professional involvement in regional, national, and University activities. Manage DPT program
student enrollment. Successfully prepare and manage the program budget on an annual basis. Facilitate curriculum development,
implementation, and evaluation. Represent the academic program by serving on University committees as requested. Supervise the acquisition
of affiliation agreements with healthcare agencies and healthcare professionals. Work effectively and collaboratively with faculty,
University administrators, and other constituent groups to meet the mission, goals, and outcomes of the program. Support departmental,
college, and University events including recruitment, orientations, graduations, and other functions as needed.

Teaching and Service: Teach 6-9 hours per academic year. The Program Director of the DPT Program will teach courses as agreed upon
with the Dean and in keeping with effective delivery of the curriculum. Develop, implement, and review effective teaching/learning
processes, incorporating appropriate methodology, technology, and other tools. Remain current in the discipline and update course content
when appropriate to reflect current levels of student knowledge in the discipline. Develop a system for ongoing evaluation of both teaching
and learning, including expectations of student competency and student learning outcomes. Participate in program, department, college,
University, professional, and community service.
-20% Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity: Participate
collaboratively as part of the program faculty to fulfill the University scholarship mission by engaging in professional development
activities in the areas of expertise including the scholarship of teaching and learning. Able to demonstrate an active scholarly agenda.
Able to articulate the resources necessary from the program to accomplish short- and long-term goals. Demonstrate a record of ongoing
scholarship resulting in identified results or products in the areas of teaching, scholarship, grant writing, or practice.
