KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Recruits/facilitates the hiring of qualified applicants. Works with temporary agencies on recruitment efforts.
Collaborates with the Human Resources team to develop effective recruitment and retainment strategies.
Serves as a point of contact for generalized HR questions responding to inquiries from team members, applicants and supervisors regarding policies, procedures and programs.
Assists with supporting managers/supervisors with human resources planning needs.
Coordinates and conducts new employee orientation to foster a positive culture and cultivate an engaged workforce.
Conducts employee onboarding/offboarding and assists with training & development.
Maintains records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, compensation, performance reviews and terminations.
Proactively leads employee engagement efforts/activities by effectively communicating with team members and vendors.
Assists the HR Department in the development of engagement initiatives that promote a committed workforce.
Performs tasks required to administer/execute HR programs including but not limited to benefits administration, compensation, disciplinary matters, performance/talent management, exit interviews, job posting creation, occupational health/safety and processing of unemployment claims.
Assists in evaluating effectiveness of human resource programs/initiatives.
May lead or be asked to facilitate focused HR related programs/projects.
Supports the HR Manager in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations and best practices.
Creates and distributes internal communications to team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business required
Minimum two or more years related HR experience required, manufacturing a plus
Knowledge and understanding of company group benefit programs preferred
Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
Excellent time management skills with ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and a high level of confidentiality
Knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems (BambooHR, ADP Workforce Now) and Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Flexibility to work outside of regular work hours to accommodate other shifts as needed
Ability to train small or large groups of people
Positive, welcoming, “Above & Beyond” attitude
