College Work StudyTC NEXT Apply now ( Job no: 508907 Position type: College Work Study Location: New York Categories: Other Posting Summary:TC NEXT (Navigating and EXploring for Tomorrow) at Teachers College, Columbia University provides current students and alumni with career advisement/coaching and postgraduate support, access to networking and community engagement, internships, research opportunities and fellowships, career identification and job search process assistance.Work-study students will assist TC NEXTs Advising + Programming team in delivering advising services to students and alumni through one-on-one sessions, workshops, and online resources, and will support the team in logistics for events.Application review for this position will begin immediately, with interviews to take place in August/September 2021 and an immediate start thereafter.The work will be hybrid or in-person (open to what students are most comfortable with) and the hourly pay is $15/hour.Job Summary/Basic Function:TC NEXT (Navigating and EXploring for Tomorrow) at Teachers College, Columbia University provides current students and alumni with career advisement/coaching and postgraduate support, access to networking and community engagement, internships, research opportunities and fellowships, career identification and job search process assistance.Work-study students will assist TC NEXTs Advising + Programming team in delivering advising services to students and alumni through one-on-one sessions, workshops, and online resources, and will support the team in logistics for events.Application review for this position will begin immediately, with interviews to take place in August/September 2021 and an immediate start thereafter.Job description:Help manage the TC NEXT delegate email account, facilitating requests and questions from students and alumni as well as:Answering Emails; assisting with tech/platform issues, connecting people to the right person/department, explaining services, providing instructions, & clarifying policies.Conduct data entry and data auditing in TC Career Resources Portal, with a specific focus on student, alumni, and faculty registrations as well as event registrationsCollaborate with TC NEXT team members as well as partners from other departments at TC (e.g. Office of International Students & Scholars, Graduate Student Life & Development, Alumni Relations)Contribute to TC NEXT social media planning and execution (iInstagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn pages)Support the planning, promotion, and logistics of Advising + Programming events and offeringsAssist with other Advising + Programming projects as neededMinimum Qualifications:Must have been awarded federal work-study for the term in which a work-study position is being sought.Must be available to work between 10-20 hours per week.Must maintain at least half-time enrollment at Teachers College.Must have strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and G-Suite).Must possess solid professional and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.Must be a student matriculated in a TC degree program.Must be able to abide by the Student Confidentiality Agreement.Must be able to abide by the Student Privacy Requirements.Preferred Qualifications:Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Eager to collaborate with TC NEXT staff.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Experience working with a database or CRM system (specifically Symplicity) is a plus.Experience working with social media and/or social media planning tools (e.g. HootSuite) is a plusInterest in higher education, employer relations, and/or business development is a plus.Advertised: 31 Aug 2021 Eastern Daylight TimeApplications close: 01 Oct 2021 Eastern Daylight Time
