Tech Niche Consulting Hiring for Java Developer at Remote Full Time

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer supporting our federal client. The qualified applicant will provide technology leadership in the area of Java and JEE development and will focus on delivering high quality enterprise applications as part of a development team. The candidate is expected to participate in the full software development lifecycle from requirements and development to testing and support. In addition to performing software development, this person is expected to participate in design, estimation, status determination, testing efforts and enhancements to existing as well as new systems.

What you will do:

• Delivering and maintaining software design and development projects using Java/Java Enterprise technologies.
• Responsible for the architecture and technology of existing products. In particular custom frameworks and security subsystems.
• Maintaining web services development, integration and web and application servers (Tomcat, Apache)
• Ability to leverage technology to recommend technical solutions to the Customer.
• Responsible for object-oriented design and development skills with appropriate use of design patterns.
• Responsible for applying AJAX principles using open source JavaScript libraries and JSON.
• Develop and validate documentation for system and software requirements

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related fields a minimum of 5 years of experience, Masters Degree and at least 3 years of experience. Additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of the degree.
• 5 years of development / software engineering experience.
• 5 years of Java/JEE/JavaScript/JQuery experience architecting, designing, and developing complex, user-based, data driven systems.
• 3 years of development using relational database management systems and standard APIs and interfaces using JDBC, Hibernate, iBatis and MySQL.
• Ability to work with homegrown frameworks as well as provide occasion support or debugging.
• Familiarity with and experience using source control and continuous integration environments (such as, GIT, JIRA, Maven).
• Ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
• Must be a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder
• Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

• Master’s degree in computer science, information or related fields with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Experience working in an iterative development is a plus.
• Public Health background or experience

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $40.00 – $55.00 per hour
