Techstars seeks a creative and detail-oriented designer to create design solutions across a range of media that will strengthen our evolving brand system. The Graphic Designer’s responsibilities will include reviewing and prioritizing design requests, devising create concepts and solutions against briefs, developing production-ready assets in both print and digital, ensuring content adheres to brand standards, and delivering high quality final assets in a fluid and demanding high-growth company.
In addition to maintaining and extending our existing brand system, the successful candidate will work with the Brand Experience team to plan, design, and implement future campaigns and rollouts, including but not limited to display and out-of-home signage, digital campaigns, social media assets, partnered assets, facilities assets, and events/program systems.
This position reports to the Director of Brand Strategy.
Responsibilities
– Work with internal/external stakeholders to prioritize asset needs
– Interpret design briefs to create a range of design solutions
– Pitch ideas, vision, and design plans with projected budgets
– Maintain and localize design templates for general company use
– Review graphics, layouts, and type before designs are delivered
– Suggest and make improvements to print/digital images
– Prepare Keynote/Google Slides presentations for executive leaders
– Create development schedules to ensure timely projects delivery
– Troubleshoot design issues with internal and external teams
– Archive produced images and graphics for future projects
Qualifications
– 4+ years work experience as production artist or visual designer
– BA or BFA in Graphic Design, Communications Design or similar discipline
– Experience producing creative assets for both digital (website, social, email) and print (events banners, brochures, booklets)
– Portfolio of completed graphics and designs within a brand system
Expert command of Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
– Familiarity with developing template-based presentations using Keynote and Google Slides
– Ability to ensure final visual designs both embody brand goals and adhere to brand guidelines (“the spirit and the letter”)
– Proven ability to translate brand guidelines into templates and toolkits for others’ use in implementing our brand
– Highly organized and detail-oriented with ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines
– Basic knowledge of web development (HTML/CSS, image processing, etc.)
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– And, most importantly, a collaborative spirit
Compensation range: $50,000-$70,000 + 10% Bonus
